Derby, in the East Midlands, is a large, industrial city close to the River Derwent. Although you might expect it to be the county town of Derbyshire, the administrative centre for Derbyshire is actually nearby Matlock.

One of the advantages of Derby is undoubtedly its location - within about 10 miles of the M1 motorway and close to the A38 and A6 roads. The town also has good rail access and is close to East Midlands Airport.
