Glossop, in Derbyshire, is medium-sized market town located in the Derbyshire Peak District - with Sheffield to the east and Manchester to the west. Home to around 33,000 people, there has been a settlement in the area since the Bronze Age. Glossop is known for its historic buildings and scenic locations but is also on one of the main routes across the Pennines - the A57.
The A57 includes the Snake Pass to the East with the B6105 leading to the north and the Woodhead Pass - both interesting roads in bad weather… Glossop is also served by regular trains to Manchester.
