Kirkcaldy is in Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. The largest settlement in the area, it lies close to the A92 trunk road which connects the town to the M90 motorway and thence to Edinburgh and Perth. The A92 also continues northwards, connecting Kirkcaldy to Dundee.

Kirkcaldy overlooks the Firth of Forth and is one of the largest settlements in the area. Historically a fishing, mining and agricultural area, it also had one of the UK's largest linoleum manufacturing facilities until the middle of the 20th century, since which time it has reduced in importance.

Today, Kirkcaldy is better known for its Links Market - the longest street market in Europe. The area's mines have now all closed, as has Kirkcaldy's harbour, which has now been redeveloped with residential apartments.

Kirkcaldy's rich heritage is reflected in a number of interesting buildings that can be found in the town centre. The 15th century Ravenscraig Castle competes with the Norman tower of the Old Parish Church and the unusual Nordic-style town house for visitors' attention, helping draw tourists to the town.

Kirkcaldy is home to more than 48,000 people and includes the areas such as Blackcraigs, Chapel, Sinclairtown, Dunnikier, Gallatown, Dysart, Mitchelston, Smeaton, and Pathhead. As befits such a major urban centre, van hire is readily available in Kirkcaldy from local van rental companies. A full choice of hire vans should be on offer, including all common van sizes:

  • Medium / short wheelbase vans - e.g. Ford Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master, LDV Maxus
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
