Lichfield is one of the UK's smaller cities. It is located in Staffordshire, just to the north of Birmingham and west of Tamworth. Today, many Lichfield residents commute to Birmingham although the city does have some light industry of its own.

Visitors are drawn to Lichfield for a variety of reasons. Lichfield Cathedral is noted for its three spires and is the focus of the annual Lichfield Festival, a popular annual arts festival. Other attractions in the area include the Drayton Manor Theme Park, Chasewater Country Park and the National Memorial Arboretum. There are also a variety of guided walking tours of Lichfield, as well as many interesting historical buildings, such as Erasmus Darwin House and the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum.
