Chelsea is one of the wealthiest areas of London. It is largely a residential and retail area and falls into the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Chelsea's location immediately to the south west of central London means that it is ideally located for access to the city, major railway stations and the A4/M4 out of London.

As well as many luxury goods stores, Chelsea has a number of well-known landmarks. Best known of these is probably the Royal Hospital, home to the Chelsea Pensioners. Chelsea Pensioners wear a distinctive red-coated uniform and are traditionally old or injured army veterans – the home was founded in the 17th century for this purpose. The hospital is Grade I listed and some areas are open to visitors.
