London Merton Van Hire
Merton is a London Borough. Situated south of Wandsworth, it includes Mitcham, Wimbledon and Morden.
The London Borough of Morden is located in south London. It has a population of approximately 200,000 people and has a long history of light industry and craftsmanship. William Morris – founder of the Arts and Crafts movement – had his factory at Merton Abbey and the founder of the Liberty department store, a byword for taste and style, also maintained a silk works at nearby Abbey Mills.
Admiral Lord Nelson had his country home in Merton, and by 1900 it was still a farming community with a population of just 1,000. However, the introduction of buses, trams and rail links that connected Merton to central London caused the area’s population to grow to more than 12,000 by 1930 – a trend which continued after the war.
