The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is situated in one of the most scenic parts of London and is home to several major tourist attractions.

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is situated in one of the most scenic parts of London. The River Thames winds through the borough and Richmond is home to some of London's most popular tourist attractions - such as Hampton Court Palace and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

Hampton Court Palace is more than 500 years old and is set in 60 acres of landscaped, riverside gardens - a true rural paradise in the big city. Most associated with Henry VIII - he of many wives - one of Hampton Court's most popular attractions is its beautifully kept maze, which provides hours of amusement for children and adults.

The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, in the north of the borough, are home to one of the finest collections of plants in the world - and are actually designated as a World Heritage site. Visiting Kew Gardens is a must for any garden enthusiast and the garden's careful landscaping means that it will be an enjoyable trip for anyone - plant enthusiast or not.

For those who live and work in Richmond, the borough has a number of advantages. It's extremely close to the M4 motorway and has good rail connections. It's also home to two golf clubs (Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club and Richmond Golf Club) and Richmond Park, a large, green space for recreational use.

Well-known areas of London that fall within the borough of Richmond include the borough's administrative centre Twickenham (home to rugby's Twickenham Stadium), Teddington, Kew, Mortlake, Hampton and St Margarets. The borough has an estimated population of 180,000 and consequently is large enough to need its own van hire branches, which provide the usual comprehensive selection of hire vans:

  • Medium / short wheelbase vans - e.g. Ford Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master, LDV Maxus
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
