Perth is a large town in Perthshire, central Scotland. Home to around 45,000 people, Perth is a historic former city with a wealth of attractions for visitors to the area.

Located in central Scotland to the west of Dundee, Perth lies at the heart of the county of Perthshire. Attractions for visitors to the area range from the historic to the alcoholic! Two fine historic castles can be found in the area – Huntingtower and Elcho Castles are both medieval tower houses that are popular with visitors and for special events such as weddings.

Whisky fans will be interested to discover that Scotland’s oldest and smallest distilleries are both located in Perthshire – Glenturret and Edradour, respectively. A visit to either of these is certain to be both educational and enjoyable. Perth itself has two parks, North Inch and South Inch and also a racecourse, which holds regular horse racing meetings.

Perth’s central location means that it has always been situated on major transport routes; this is still true today. Running south from the town is the M90 motorway to Edinburgh and there are also good road connections to Glasgow and Inverness. There are railway connections to London, and Perth has its own airport, Perth Airport, with facilities for private craft and tutoring.

As befits a large town, van hire is readily available throughout Perth and most types of hire van should be on offer locally:
