About Sleaford

Home to around 15,000 people, Sleaford is a historical town in an agricultural area of Lincolnshire. The town's cattle market was for many years a feature of its economy and Sleaford's position at the crossroads of the A15 and A17 helped to make it accessible for visitors from surrounding towns.

Sleaford is around 20 miles south of Lincoln, 13 miles north-east of Grantham, and 17 miles to the west of Boston. It is also within commuting distance of Newark and Nottingham and the town has good railway connections to more distant places.

Sleaford's history is thought to stretch back to the 8th century and it was certainly established by the 11th century, albeit much of the town was rebuilt in the early 19th century. It has a fine selection of historic buildings and is a popular place to live.

Sleaford's busy residential and business communities mean that there is a steady demand for van hire facilities, which are provided by local branches within the town. Most standard types of van should be available for hire:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
