Stirling Van Hire
Stirling is a city in central Scotland. Situated between the Lowlands and the Highlands, it is sometimes known as the Gateway to the Highlands.
Situated north east of Glasgow and north west of Edinburgh, Stirling lies at the end of the M9 motorway on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. Just a few miles to the west are the Trossachs and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park while Stirling itself lies on the River Forth, providing a link with the sea.
Stirling is Scotland's smallest city. Home to just over 40,000 people Stirling's history can be traced all the way back to a Stone Age settlement on the site. The city is steeped in history and has a number of notable historical monuments – including the National Wallace Monument, which commemorates local legend William Wallace – the real Braveheart! The tower at the monument offers views all the way to Ben Lomond and Edinburgh and is extremely popular.
Other attractions in and around Stirling include the Bannockburn Heritage Centre, which enables visitors to learn about the history of the Battle of Bannockburn, and Stirling Castle, which has been home to many of Scotland's best known kings and queens.
