Thetford is a historic market town in Norfolk. Believe to date from the late Iron Age, it has long been an important regional centre. One of the town's oldest attractions is the Priory Ruins, which are believed to date from a Cluniac Priory founded in 1103.

Thetford is also well known as the place where the outdoor scenes of sitcom Dad's Army were filmed. The town's flint buildings and rural surroundings were perfect for Walmington-on-Sea!

Thetford is situated alongside the A11 trunk road and is less than 30 miles from Norwich. It is also only 90 miles from London – making the capital surprisingly accessible from this rural area.
