{"id":2737,"date":"2011-12-14T19:31:46","date_gmt":"2011-12-14T19:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=2737"},"modified":"2011-12-14T19:31:46","modified_gmt":"2011-12-14T19:31:46","slug":"sprinter-conversion-provides-fire-fighting-control-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/2737","title":{"rendered":"Sprinter Conversion Provides Fire-Fighting Control Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2738\" title=\"Merseyside Fire &amp; Rescue Service Incident Management Unit\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/merseyside-imu-1-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Merseyside Fire &amp; Rescue Service Incident Management Unit\" width=\"350\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/merseyside-imu-1-sm.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/merseyside-imu-1-sm-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/>Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service has taken delivery of a high-tech Mercedes-Benz Sprinter conversion that has turned into a mobile control centre, capable of simultaneously capturing, co-ordinating and integrating three separate layers of multi-agency communications in real time.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, it can effectively apply its own wireless mesh network around an entire fireground \u2013 as well as hosting real time links with Gold and Silver command centres, external media channels, a free-sat television system and even a Heli-Tele option.<\/p>\n<p>This unit is automatically deployed to any incident requiring more than three appliances and carries its own crew of two.<\/p>\n<p>It is based on a 5-tonne Mercedes Sprinter and has been converted to provide the technological and communications support required for almost every eventuality.
