{"id":3699,"date":"2012-09-04T13:19:59","date_gmt":"2012-09-04T13:19:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=3699"},"modified":"2012-09-04T13:19:59","modified_gmt":"2012-09-04T13:19:59","slug":"mercedes-citan-city-van-uk-launch-model-details","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/3699","title":{"rendered":"Mercedes Citan City Van: UK Launch Model Details"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_3704\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3704\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3704\" title=\"Mercedes-Benz Citan\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mercedes-citan-6-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz Citan\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3704\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mercedes-Benz Citan<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a long time since Mercedes-Benz sold a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/info.php?inforef=small-van\">small van<\/a> &#8212; but the company is about to put that right with the launch of the Citan, a joint venture model that&#8217;s based on the Renault Kangoo and is billed as an urban delivery van.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/3226\">Citan is scheduled<\/a>\u00a0to receive its public unveiling at the 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hanover, Germany, in October, but Mercedes has now released some more information about launch models in the Citan range.<\/p>\n<h3>Engines<\/h3>\n<p>Mercedes&#8217; turbodiesel direct-injection OM\u00a0607 1.5-litre engine will be supplied in three different output levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Citan\u00a0108\u00a0CDI, output 75\u00a0hp, torque 180\u00a0Nm<\/li>\n<li>Citan\u00a0109\u00a0CDI, output 90\u00a0hp, torque 200\u00a0Nm<\/li>\n<li>Citan\u00a0111\u00a0CDI, output 110\u00a0hp, torque 240\u00a0Nm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The diesel range will be complemented by the turbocharged M\u00a0200.71 petrol engine, which has a capacity of 1.2\u00a0l:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Citan\u00a0112, output 114\u00a0hp, torque 190\u00a0Nm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Citan\u00a0108\u00a0CDI and 109\u00a0CDI are available now; the Citan\u00a0111\u00a0CDI and Citan\u00a0112 variants will round off the range in the summer of next year.<\/p>\n<h3>BlueEFFICIENCY<\/h3>\n<p>Mercedes&#8217; BlueEFFICIENCY economy package will be standard on the petrol Citan and optional on diesel models. Fuel consumption for the 108CDi and 109CDi in BlueEFFICIENCY guise is 65mpg on the official combined cycle &#8212; no doubt real life will \u00a0be lower but economy should be impressive nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p>CO2 emissions will be low, too, with the 108CDi and 109CDI &#8212; likely to be the most popular models &#8212; specified as having CO2 emissions of just 112g\/km. Low emissions and fuel consumption in urban work should be helped by the van&#8217;s ECO Start\/Stop system, which is part of the BlueEFFICIENCY package.<\/p>\n<h3>Three sizes<\/h3>\n<p>The Citan will come in three lengths; Compact, Long and Extra Long, providing a wide range of load capacities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compact: 1.36m long, 2.4m\u00b3, approx. 500kg payload<\/li>\n<li>Long: 1.75m, 3.1m\u00b3, approx. 650kg payload<\/li>\n<li>Extra Long: 2.13m, 3.8m\u00b3, approx. 800kg payload<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As well as these panel van variants, the Citan will also come in Mercedes&#8217; Dualiner and Traveliner variants &#8212; basically a crew cab and people carrier respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Citan will complete Mercedes&#8217; range of vans and allow its customers to choose from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vansize.php\">full range of van sizes<\/a>, from 1.8t to 7.5t.<\/p>\n<p><em>The new Citan looks to be an attractive package and Mercedes-Benz is going to some pains to try and convince would-be buyers that it is a true Mercedes, not a rebadged Renault.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes-Benz has released more details of its new Citan small van, ahead of the Citan&#8217;s launch at the 2012 IAA Commercial Vehicles Show in Hannover this October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[8],"tags":[1324,1325,156],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3699"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3699"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3699\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3707,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3699\/revisions\/3707"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3699"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3699"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3699"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
