{"id":4302,"date":"2013-02-25T11:17:05","date_gmt":"2013-02-25T11:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=4302"},"modified":"2013-02-25T11:17:05","modified_gmt":"2013-02-25T11:17:05","slug":"tees-valley-property-company-vela-orders-129-citroen-vans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/4302","title":{"rendered":"Tees Valley Property Company Vela Orders 129 Citro\u00ebn Vans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4303\" alt=\"Citro\u00ebn Relay operated by The Vela Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/citroen-relay-vela-sm.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"205\" \/><strong>Tees Valley property company The Vela Group has ordered 129\u00a0Citro\u00ebn vans to replace the majority of its 200-strong vehicle fleet. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vela, which owns and manages former council housing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/stockton-on-tees\">Stockton<\/a> and Hartlepool, has ordered\u00a0120 Citro\u00ebn Dispatch L2 1200 vans, eight Citro\u00ebn Relay 35 L3 H2 HDi 130 vans and a Nemo 1.3 HDi Stop &amp; Start van, as well as some cars.<\/p>\n<p>The order will be fulfilled by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/gateshead\">Gateshead<\/a>\u00a0dealer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drivespringfield.com\/citroen\" target=\"_blank\">Springfield\u00a0Citro\u00ebn<\/a> and the vans will be used by Vela&#8217;s maintenance teams to provide a 24-hour service\u00a0to customers across its 17,000 properties in Stockton-on-Tees and Hartlepool.<\/p>\n<p>All the vans are ply-lined and have been specified with passenger airbags, full steel bulkheads, reversing warning systems and parking sensors. Eighty of the vehicles are fitted with roof bars or tilt and slide ladder racks, and one of the Relays is fitted with an external glazing rack &#8211; all installed by Lyndon Security.<\/p>\n<p>All of the vehicles are fitted with\u00a0Teletrac satellite tracking to minimise response times and to help Vela meet its commitment to health and safety and the environment. Around half of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citroen.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Citro\u00ebn<\/a> vehicles in this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.velagroup.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vela Group<\/a> order have been funded through Citro\u00ebn Contract Motoring 3 or 4 year, 30,000 or 40,000 mile with-maintenance contract hire agreements &#8211; with the remaining vehicles being purchased outright.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Kay, Group Director of Property Services at Vela, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe went through a rigorous selection and procurement process, which included user groups made up of trades operatives, managers and supervisors to evaluate the options offered by the leading vehicle manufacturers.
