{"id":4414,"date":"2013-03-21T15:09:12","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T15:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=4414"},"modified":"2013-03-21T15:09:12","modified_gmt":"2013-03-21T15:09:12","slug":"ford-transit-custom-doubles-up-with-another-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/4414","title":{"rendered":"Ford Transit Custom Doubles Up With Another Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_4415\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4415\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4415\" alt=\"Ford Transit Custom front view\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/ford-transit-custom-12-sm.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4415\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Ford Transit Custom was chosen as &#8216;Best Medium Van&#8217; by the Trade Van Driver magazine award judges.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ford&#8217;s newest commercial vehicle models, the Transit Custom and Ranger, have received two more industry awards, bringing their total to 15 awards in 12 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/brentwood\">Brentwood<\/a>-based Ford&#8217;s bulging trophy cabinet will need to be expanded soon, following the firm&#8217;s double victory at the 2013 Trade Van Driver (TVD) Awards, where the highly acclaimed Ford Transit Custom and Ford Ranger pick-up received top honours.<\/p>\n<p>The Ford Transit Custom is \u201cBest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/info.php?inforef=medium-van\">Medium Van<\/a>\u201d, hailed by TVD judges as \u201ca quantum leap forward\u201d over its predecessor. The Transit Custom\u2019s intelligent design, more fuel-efficient engine line-up, and introduction of advanced vehicle technologies like SYNC \u2013 Ford\u2019s in-car connectivity system \u2013 were all praised.<\/p>\n<p>The Ford Ranger is \u201cBest 4&#215;4 Truck\u201d against stiff competition \u2013 praised for its robust appearance, its car-like ride and handling and supreme ability to cope with rough terrain. The variety of different Ranger models was also highly commended by the judges.<\/p>\n<p>The TVD Awards aim to give recognition to manufacturers, firms and people who, in the opinion of the judges and readers using light commercial vehicles daily, offer the best solution to retail van buyers.<\/p>\n<p>Ford sales director, Andy Barratt, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe awards for Ford\u2019s exciting commercial vehicle range keep on coming. We\u2019re delighted with Transit Custom\u2019s very healthy sales start, contributing to Ford\u2019s overall 21 per cent share of the UK CV market for the year to date.
