{"id":4562,"date":"2013-04-25T15:46:09","date_gmt":"2013-04-25T15:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=4562"},"modified":"2013-04-25T15:46:09","modified_gmt":"2013-04-25T15:46:09","slug":"environment-agency-chooses-citroen-vans-to-cut-emissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/4562","title":{"rendered":"Environment Agency Chooses Citro\u00ebn Vans To Cut Emissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_4563\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4563\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4563\" alt=\"Citroen Berlingo Enterprise belonging to the Environment Agency\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/citroen-berlingo-env-agency-sm.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/citroen-berlingo-env-agency-sm.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/citroen-berlingo-env-agency-sm-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4563\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Environment Agency has taken delivery of 31 Citro\u00ebn Berlingo vans fitted with bespoke Bristor Racking Systems, Lighting Bars and other accessories<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.environment-agency.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Environment Agency<\/a> (EA) has just bought 31 Citro\u00ebn Berlingo HDi 90 Enterprise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/info.php?inforef=small-van\">small vans<\/a> as part of its commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of its light commercial vehicle (LCV) fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Graham Patrickson, EA Fleet Operations Manager, explains:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis latest purchase of Berlingo vans is part of the EA\u2019s continuing drive to reduce the carbon footprint of its LCV fleet, while reducing costs and raising operational efficiency.\u00a0 Not only meeting, but exceeding our green targets is at the forefront in all our vehicle selection processes &#8211; and the Berlingo Enterprise has all the green credentials required by the EA.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The EA &#8211; an agency within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/defra\" target=\"_blank\">Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs<\/a> (Defra) &#8211; is allocating its 31 Berlingo vans to staff involved in flood defence and maintenance work, as well as to EA specialists carrying out environmental management monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>To meet individual user requirements, the EA has worked with racking specialist Bri-Stor to develop a number of internal racking layouts and equipment specifications.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bri-stor.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bri-Stor<\/a> is fitting the Berlingos with its latest high tensile steel racking (which is up to 45% lighter than the system previously supplied to the EA), white polycarbonate load area lining and roof light bars, while the users get a choice of options, including hand wash units, tow bars, ladder racks, inverters and roof vents.<\/p>\n<p>Supplied through Springfield Citro\u00ebn of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/newcastle-upon-tyne\">Newcastle-upon-Tyne<\/a>, the well-equipped Berlingo Enterprise vans come with air conditioning, Bluetooth\u00ae and rear park sensors as standard and have Citro\u00ebn\u2019s Trafficmaster package, which includes Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking.
