{"id":4720,"date":"2013-05-30T16:33:56","date_gmt":"2013-05-30T16:33:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=4720"},"modified":"2013-05-30T16:34:38","modified_gmt":"2013-05-30T16:34:38","slug":"volkswagen-crafter-gets-700-kit-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/4720","title":{"rendered":"Volkswagen Crafter Gets \u00a3700 Kit Boost"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4358\" alt=\"Volkswagen Crafter panel van\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/vw-crafter-3-sm.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"194\" \/>Volkswagen aims to boost sales of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/2049\">Crafter van<\/a>, which shares its platform with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, by adding more than \u00a3700 of extras to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/info.php?inforef=xlwb-van\">large van&#8217;s<\/a> standard specification.<\/p>\n<p>In the cab, the added specification includes Bluetooth, a multi-function steering wheel (also adjustable for reach and rake), armrests for the driver\u2019s seat, electrically operated and heated door mirrors and cruise control.\u00a0 The load area now has a wooden floor as standard, plus an entry handle and 270 degree-opening rear doors.<\/p>\n<p>Prices for the Crafter range start from \u00a321,050, but Volkswagen is currently offering a range of finance deals for new buyers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contract hire and finance lease rates from \u00a3299 a month (plus VAT and initial rental), including a \u00a31,000 initial rental contribution and four free services.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, if financed with lease purchase or hire purchase, a \u00a32,000 deposit contribution is available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commenting on the upgraded Crafter, Mark Hopkins, Head of Marketing, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;With its higher specification, economical BlueMotion engines, affordable finance and impressive residual values, the Crafter is an extremely competitive proposition in the large van market. We have already seen a significant increase in Crafter sales this year, and as the new models offer even better value, we expect to see it become even more popular now.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Crafter range includes panel vans with load volumes of up to 17m<sup>3<\/sup>, window vans with up to eight passenger seats, single- and double-chassis cabs, plus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/info.php?inforef=drop-tipper-van\">tipper and dropside<\/a> \u2018Engineered to go\u2019 conversions.
