{"id":473,"date":"2008-12-04T09:52:10","date_gmt":"2008-12-04T09:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=473"},"modified":"2008-12-02T21:04:44","modified_gmt":"2008-12-02T21:04:44","slug":"van-co2-emissions-now-available-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/473","title":{"rendered":"Van CO2 Emissions Now Available Online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I reported in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/48\" target=\"_self\">January<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/159\" target=\"_self\">June<\/a>, the BVLRA (British Vehicle Leasing &amp; Rental Association) has been working hard to make van CO2 emissions publicly available in the same way that car CO2 emissions are.<\/p>\n<p>Van manufacturers have now (reluctantly?) agreed to publish this information in 2009, but the BVLRA has leaped ahead of this and produce its own guide &#8211; a free, online tool to compare the emissions of current model light commercial vehicles (vans, pickups, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>You can find the BVLRA&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bvrla.co.uk\/Public\/Greening_the_Fleet\/Van_Environmental_Rating.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">Van CO2 Emissions comparison tool here<\/a>, and very good it is too.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in comparing the CO2 emissions of different van models &#8211; either for rental, purchase or other reasons &#8211; then this tool is unique, as far as I am aware, and works very well.<\/p>\n<p>As well as CO2 emisions, the tool compares fuel economy (obviously it is restricted to manufacturers&#8217; published consumption figures) and unladen weight, providing an interesting way to compare and contrast similar vans.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the BVLRA for grasping the bull by the horns and making this happen &#8211; you can find the tool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bvrla.co.uk\/Public\/Greening_the_Fleet\/Van_Environmental_Rating.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, along with other resources that are part of the BVLRA&#8217;s Greening the Fleet initiative.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BVLRA has now triumphed in its campaign to make van CO2 emissions freely available.
