{"id":7134,"date":"2015-02-18T16:24:20","date_gmt":"2015-02-18T16:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=7134"},"modified":"2015-02-18T16:24:20","modified_gmt":"2015-02-18T16:24:20","slug":"pick-up-news-nissan-navara-mitsubishi-l200-toyota-hilux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/7134","title":{"rendered":"Pick-up news: Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi L200 &#038; Toyota Hilux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week has seen three manufacturers announce new or updated pick-up models &#8212; in fact, given the rate at which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/6965\">blinged-up pick-ups<\/a> are appearing on the market at the moment, I wonder if we are approaching the peak of this particular fashion?<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s a summary of this week&#8217;s\u00a0new and updated models:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7135\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7135\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7135\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mitsubishi-l200-new15-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Mitsubishi L200 new 2015 model\" width=\"350\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mitsubishi-l200-new15-sm.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mitsubishi-l200-new15-sm-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mitsubishi-l200-new15-sm-50x37.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-7135\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new 2015 Mitsubishi L200<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>New Mitsubishi L200<\/h3>\n<p>The current L200 is one of the longer-running models in the pick-up market, so it&#8217;s no big surprise to see that Mitsubishi is planning to introduce a new, 5th generation model, later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The new L200 will make its debut at the International\u00a0Geneva Motor Show in March, and is due to\u00a0be\u00a0launched in Europe\u00a0in summer 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The new L200 will be powered by an all-new 2.4-litre\u00a0MIVEC\u00a0diesel engine which the firm says will deliver a 17%\u00a0reduction in CO2\u00a0emissions and will be controlled with a new 6-speed manual\u00a0transmission.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">There&#8217;ll also be an automatic option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Service intervals have been increased, ride quality tweaked and seating improved &#8212; apparently &#8212; while safety has also been improved with the addition of the usual raft of new safety systems, such as\u00a0lane departure warning and trailer stability assist.<\/p>\n<h3>Nissan Navara Salomon<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_7136\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7136\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7136\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nissan-navara-salomon-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Nissan Navara Salomon Limited Edition\" width=\"350\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nissan-navara-salomon-sm.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nissan-navara-salomon-sm-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/nissan-navara-salomon-sm-50x32.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-7136\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nissan Navara Salomon Limited Edition<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the absence of\u00a0a new model, pick-up manufacturers seem to be keen on introducing new\u00a0blinged-up limited edition specials, targeting the growing lifestyle\/fashion contingent who buy these large\u00a0vehicles for reasons other than practicality&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As its name suggests, the Navara Salomon is targeting the &#8216;adventure lifestyle&#8217; market.<\/p>\n<p>The Salomon spec is based on the popular\u00a0Navara Tekna trim and includes\u00a0styling enhancements such as chrome front bar, \u00a0door handles and foglight surrounds. There&#8217;s also\u00a0unique Salomon branding on the front, side and rear of the vehicle which is available in Metallic Black, Twilight Grey, Starburst Silver or Alabaster White.<\/p>\n<p>On the inside,\u00a0the Navara is boasts Salomon entry guards, a metal plaque, and Salomon floor mats.
