{"id":7278,"date":"2015-03-23T15:00:21","date_gmt":"2015-03-23T15:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=7278"},"modified":"2015-03-23T15:00:21","modified_gmt":"2015-03-23T15:00:21","slug":"hertz-wins-van-rental-company-of-the-year-at-trade-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/7278","title":{"rendered":"Hertz wins van rental company of the year at trade awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7279\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/ford-transit-custom-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Ford Transit and Ford Transit Custom\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/ford-transit-custom-sm.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/ford-transit-custom-sm-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/ford-transit-custom-sm-50x33.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/>Hertz was chosen as the\u00a0Van Rental Company of the\u00a0Year at least week&#8217;s\u00a0<em>VansA2Z\u00a0<\/em>Van of the Year Awards 2015, taking home the inaugural prize in this new category.<\/p>\n<p>Competition was strong &#8212; there are more than 200 van rental companies\u00a0affiliated with the British Vehicle Rental &amp; Leasing Association &#8212; but the judges rules that Hertz was an &#8220;<em>outstanding performer that rated highly across all judged criteria<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere at the awards, it was largely business as usual.\u00a0Ford&#8217;s\u00a0confident renewal of its entire commercial vehicle\u00a0range has won the firm a lot of awards (and\u00a0some new fans) over the last 18 months, and last week was no exception.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0men\u00a0and women from the blue oval walked away from\u00a0the VansA2Z 2015 Van of the Year\u00a0Awards at Twickenham\u00a0Stadium with\u00a0no fewer than five awards\u00a0and several commendations,\u00a0including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Editor&#8217;s Choice: Ford Transit Courier<\/li>\n<li>Small Panel Van of the Year: Ford Transit Custom<\/li>\n<li>Large Panel Van of the Year: Ford Transit<\/li>\n<li>Best Small Van: Ford Fiesta Van<\/li>\n<li>Lifetime Achievement: Ford Transit, in recognition of this year&#8217;s 50th annivesary for the\u00a0legendary van<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ford did, however, fail to bag the overall top spot, the Van of the Year\u00a0Award, which went to Fiat for the\u00a0latest iteration of its popular\u00a0Dobl\u00f2 Cargo van, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/7123\">went on sale just\u00a0one month ago<\/a>.
