{"id":8545,"date":"2016-03-23T15:52:11","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T15:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=8545"},"modified":"2016-03-23T15:52:11","modified_gmt":"2016-03-23T15:52:11","slug":"lincoln-wickes-offers-hourly-van-hire-this-easter-thanks-to-europcar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/8545","title":{"rendered":"Lincoln Wickes offers hourly van hire this Easter thanks to Europcar"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_5857\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5857\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5857\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/europcar-van-hire-3-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Europcar van hire\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/europcar-van-hire-3-sm.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/europcar-van-hire-3-sm-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5857\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Europcar vans will be available for \u00a317 per hour at Wickes in Lincoln this Easter weekend.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Europcar is one of a handful of\u00a0big hire companies which offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/hourlyvanhire.php\">hourly van hire in the UK<\/a>\u00a0(another is Hertz).<\/p>\n<p>This service is very popular with customers, but is harder for hire companies to operate profitably &#8212; hence its limited availability.<\/p>\n<p>Hourly hire comes into its own for short distance moves in towns and cities.<\/p>\n<p>Picking up large furniture or DIY purchases is a good example.\u00a0To try and capture some of this market and presumably trial a new service, Europcar\u00a0is\u00a0making two VW Crafter vans available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/lincoln\">Lincoln<\/a> branch of Wickes this\u00a0Easter weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Europcar&#8217;s research shows that nearly 20% of 35-44 year olds have admitted to driving an overloaded car. This is\u00a0surprisingly easy to do when purchasing DIY supplies, given the weight of quite small items. A standard bags of gravel, sand or cement weighs 25kg. Tiles and paving are also very heavy for their size.<\/p>\n<p>The vans will be available for just \u00a317 per hour, according to Europcar\u00a0UK boss Ken McCall.
