I suspect that&#8217;s the reason for this flamboyant display at this year&#8217;s Chicago\u00a0Auto Show. If you&#8217;re interested in the nitty gritty technical detail,\u00a0here are some of the highlights (bearing in mind that this is intended for the US market):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Payload: 6,400 lbs (approx. 2,900kg)<\/li>\n<li>Towing capacity: 4 tons<\/li>\n<li>Powertrain: 2.0-litre BlueTEC diesel combined with 7-speed 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission<\/li>\n<li>Scattolini ScattoMaax tipper bed<\/li>\n<li>Beadlock wheels and off-road tyres with\u00a0long-travel suspension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>US customers can buy the Sprinter from Freightliner dealers and are able to specify many of the options seen on the Sprinter Extreme through Freightliner&#8217;s MasterUpfitter program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Extreme is a heavy duty concept model designed to showcase the Sprinter&#8217;s off-road credentials for the US market.
