{"id":8625,"date":"2016-04-15T15:37:23","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T15:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/?p=8625"},"modified":"2016-04-15T15:39:37","modified_gmt":"2016-04-15T15:39:37","slug":"vauxhall-joins-made-in-britain-campaign-with-luton-built-vivaro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/8625","title":{"rendered":"Vauxhall joins Made in Britain campaign with Luton-built Vivaro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/archives\/8105\">commented before<\/a> that by building the Vivaro van at its Luton plant,\u00a0Vauxhall\u00a0single-handedly provides most of the volume\u00a0commercial vehicle production in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate its contribution to the UK economy and to\u00a0make sure\u00a0potential buyers are aware\u00a0that the Vivaro is made in\u00a0Britain, Vauxhall has joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madeingb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Made in Britain campaign<\/a>. This was founded in 2011\u00a0with the aim of helping everyone identify British-made products.<\/p>\n<p>Every Vivaro built at Luton will now include\u00a0the tradermark protected Made in Britain badge.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8626\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/vauxhall-made-in-britain-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Vauxhall Vivaro Made in Britain badge\" width=\"550\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/vauxhall-made-in-britain-sm.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/vauxhall-made-in-britain-sm-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/vauxhall-made-in-britain-sm-50x33.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The not-for-profit campaign now includes thousands of products from over 700 members. Made in Britain members range from large manufacturers to small companies and start-ups, with Vauxhall joining Unipart, Naylor, Anglian Home Improvements and the National Gallery among others on the campaign.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are very proud of our 113-year heritage of building vehicles in Britain, and being part of this campaign is a great way to communicate this,\u201d said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall\u2019s Chairman and Managing Director.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Last year, Vauxhall manufactured 60,280 Vivaro vans at its plant in Luton, with 28,000 of those sold in the UK.
