Vehicle Rental deal is a bestseller for World of Books"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leading online\u00a0used bookseller World of Books\u00a0needs a sizeable fleet of vans to collect\u00a0stock from its network of charity shops.\u00a0The firm\u00a0operates 75 vans which\u00a0cover 3.75 million miles each year.<\/p>\n<p>Issues such as fuel consumption, payload and running costs become a big deal when you&#8217;re dealing with\u00a0numbers like that.\u00a0In order to keep costs under control, World of Books has opted for a contract hire deal with T.O.M. Vehicle Rental for its\u00a0current fleet. This\u00a0provides fixed costs, including\u00a0repairs, servicing, maintenance, road fund licence, worn tyre replacement and replacement vehicles.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9230\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9230\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9230\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/world-of-books-tom-sm.jpg\" alt=\"World of Books T.O.M. Vehicle Rental<\/p><\/div>\n<p>World of Books&#8217; new vans are all Citroen Relay\u00a035 Enterprise L3 H2 HDI 130ps models. These long wheelbase 3,500kg vans\u00a0boast a\u00a0payload that&#8217;s 300kg greater than the competing models previously operated by World of Books.<\/p>\n<p>This means that each van can collect more books from charity shop customers on each run,\u00a0which ultimately reduces mileage. Fuel consumption\u00a0is better too, according to the firm.\u00a0World of Books\u00a0expects to enjoy savings of \u00a335,000 on diesel alone.<\/p>\n<p>The choice of Enterprise\u00a0specification for the Relay vans means that World of Books&#8217; drivers will enjoy the\u00a0benefits of\u00a0Bluetooth, air conditioning and rear parking sensors. Sourcing them\u00a0through a contract hire deal with T.O.M. meant that the vans were delivered ready to work &#8212; complete with loadlok, livery and trackers.<\/p>\n<p>This kind of one-stop shop\u00a0contract hire solution is\u00a0increasingly popular with companies, as it\u00a0means that\u00a0the\u00a0financing burden and fleet management duties are largely outsourced, in exchange for a fixed monthly payment.<\/p>\n<p>I expect to see more deals of this kind over the next few years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>World of Books has taken delivery of a new fleet of 75 Citroen Relay vans under contract hire from T.O.M.
