Well-regarded Dutch\u00a0tyre manufacturer Apollo Vredestein has just released\u00a0the Comtrac 2 All Season, a new version of its Comtrac All Season\u00a0tyre for vans and light trucks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9553\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9553\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm.jpg\" alt=\"Vredestein Comtrac 2 all-season tyre\" width=\"650\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm-624x624.jpg 624w, https:\/\/www.vanrental.co.uk\/vanblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/vredestein-comtrac-2-sm-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new Vredestein Comtrac 2 all-season tyre<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As with other tyres in this sector, the Comtrac 2 All Season boasts a silica compound and tread design that are\u00a0designed to provide good\u00a0water dispersion and\u00a0good grip in cold and\u00a0snowy conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The firm says improvements have been made in three specific areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>open lateral shoulder grooves and wider longitudinal grooves to optimize water dispersion;<\/li>\n<li>improved shape of footprint and new silica compound for better grip on wet roads and lower rolling resistance to reduce fuel consumption;<\/li>\n<li>increased tread stiffness and new sipe design for more balanced pressure distribution and reduced deformation under load.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These\u00a0changes are said to\u00a0reduce wet braking distance at 50mph by 11.7m compared to the\u00a0original Comtrac tyre. Stability under heavy loads has\u00a0been improved by 10% and rolling resistance reduced by 5%, according to Vredestein.<\/p>\n<p>The new Comtrac 2 will be available from launch in ten sizes:<\/p>\n<p>235\/65R 16C 115\/113 R<br \/>\n225\/65R 16C 112\/110 R<br \/>\n215\/65R 16C 109\/107 T<br \/>\n205\/65R 16C 107\/105 T<br \/>\n195\/65R 16C 104\/102 T<br \/>\n215\/75R 16C 116\/114 R<br \/>\n195\/75R 16C 107\/105 R<br \/>\n225\/70R 15C 112\/110 S<br \/>\n215\/70R 15C 109\/107 S<br \/>\n195\/70R 15C 104\/102 R<\/p>\n<p>The Comtrac 2 will get\u00a0receive its global launch at the biennial AutoZum show in Salzburg, Austria, from 18-21 January, 2017.
