The Peugeot Partner and\u00a0Citro\u00ebn Berlingo electric\u00a0vans (the same vehicle) have been around for a while now. But\u00a0so far they’ve only been available in\u00a0the shorter L1 wheelbase offered by the firm’s on its diesel models.<\/p>\n

The companies say that\u00a0in response to customer demand, the Berlingo\/Partner electric van will now be available in a choice of L1 and L2 wheelbases.\u00a0Choosing the L2 option will enable\u00a0van operators to extend\u00a0available load length from 1,800mm to 2,050mm and load volume from\u00a03.3 cubic metres to 3.7 cubic metres.<\/p>\n

The battery packs are fitted beneath the\u00a0floor in this model, meaning that loadspace is\u00a0the same as in the diesel models.<\/p>\n

Faster charging<\/h2>\n

Both models will also benefit from being supplied\u00a0with a 16A charging cable as standard. This enables the vans to be hooked up to fast charging\u00a0points for more rapid recharging.<\/p>\n

The 22.5kWh litihium-ion battery backs fitted to\u00a0these models provide a range of up to 106 miles. They can be charged to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes from a dedicated rapid charge point.<\/p>\n

The Partner\/Berlingo is eligible for the Plug in Van Grant (PiVG) from the Office for Low\u00a0Emission Vehicles (OLEV). Prices\u00a0for both vans start from \u00a322,180 +VAT. All vans are exempt from\u00a0road tax and will continue to be so\u00a0under new tax\u00a0VED rules from\u00a0April 2017.<\/p>\n
