One of the major cities of the West Midlands, Coventry is the eleventh largest city in the UK. Perhaps best known as the heart of the British motor industry, Coventry will also forever be remembered for the catastrophic damage it suffered during WWII bombing raids. Today it has been completely rebuilt and its modern cathedral pierces the skyline of a large, metropolitan city. Today's cathedral was built in the late 1950s, following the destruction of the original, 16th century cathedral during the bombing of Coventry in 1940.
