Bishop's Stortford is a historic market town in Hertfordshire. It is home to around 35,000 people and a settlement has existed on the site since Saxon times - before which it was a Roman town on the Stane Street road. Bishop's Stortford's proximity to London's Stansted Airport means that many local residents work at the airport and that the town makes a convenient base for anyone who needs to travel a lot from Stansted.
