About Darlington

Darlington is a borough in County Durham, in the North of England. The town has a long transport-related history, having formed one end of the original Stockton - Darlington railway.

Today this history is celebrated in one of Darlington's main attractions - the Head of Steam. Formerly known as the Darlington Railway Centre and Museum, it was relaunched in April 2008 after a £1.7m refurbishment. The Head of Steam is popular with adults and children alike and includes a range of interactive activities for children in addition to the displays of locomotives and railway memorabilia.

Darlington has a popular theatre, its own music and beer festival and is home to The Northern Echo, the well-known regional newspaper.

Darlington's population of around 100,000 people ensures that there is a steady demand for van hire in Darlington - unsurprisingly, there are plenty of van rental companies in the town, each offering a wide selection of vans such as those listed below:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
