About Dunfermline

Dunfermline's timeline can be followed at least as far back as the 11th century, when it was the venue for the marriage of King Malcolm III and Saint Margaret. An Abbey was subsequently built in Dunfermline, the ruins of which draw a stream of visitors to the town.

Other attractions in the area include the world's smallest working light house and the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum. This is named after the Dunfermline native who emigrated to America and became the world's richest man.

Today, Dunfermline is one of the largest towns in the area. But its location just across the Forth road bridge from Edinburgh means that it's also a popular place for commuters to the Scottish capital to put down roots. A population of more than 50,000 people means that a full range of local services are available, including a choice of vans to hire:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
