About East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport is located just off Junction 24A of the M1, near the village of Castle Donington. It's convenient, central location (near to Nottingham, Leicester, Loughborough and Derby) in the East Midlands has meant that it has become a popular airport with both passengers and cargo operators. East Midlands Airport currently handles around 5.5m passengers a year and around 300,000 tonnes of freight - making it the second largest cargo airport in the UK after London Heathrow.

These are concentrated in Europe but also include Florida and India. East Midlands Airport also boasts an unusual attraction - Aeropark. Aeropark is an outdoor area where a large number of vintage aircraft are on public display. The area also provides a good view of arrivals and departures at East Midlands, making it an ideal day out for aviation enthusiasts.
