About Epsom

Epsom Downs Race Course is one of the best known horse-racing tracks in the UK and is the home of the annual Derby Festival, named after the 12th Earl of Derby, who founded the race in 1780. The race is one of the biggest events on the racing calendar and never fails to attract a huge attendance, usually including the Queen, who is a racing fan.

Epsom was once a spa town and is traditionally known for its smelling salts - made by boiling down the mineral water from the spa to extract the minerals. The town's location within the M25 means that today it is far more popular as a commuter belt town, offering excellent access to both central London by rail and to other towns in the area by road. Epsom is only 18 miles from Charing Cross station and is around 2 miles from the M25.

Epsom's popularity as a residential base means that there is plenty of demand for van hire in and around Epsom. Local van rental companies meet this need, providing a comprehensive range of hire vans:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
