The town is on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park - one of the most beautiful regions of the UK and an area that provides a wide range of opportunities for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Fishguard is also noted as the location of the last ever invasion of Britain, in 1797.
Transport connections to Fishguard and Goodwick are surprisingly good, given their remote locations - the A40 London - Fishguard trunk road terminates here and Goodwick also has a railway station.
