About Hastings

Hastings' long history stretches back to the eight century. But it was in 1066 that the town made its mark on history, as the location of the Battle of Hastings, at which William the Conqueror defeated King Harold, clearing the way for him to become King of England.

Much has changes since then. During the Victorian period, Hastings became a popular seaside resort and grew rapidly following the construction of a railway linking the town to London and other inland areas.

The town's long and varied history is reflected in the architecture of the well-preserved old town area. Hastings remains popular with visitors. Residents benefit from living in an area with a high standard of living that's only a short distance from the High Weald Area of Natural Beauty.

More everyday requirements are satisfied by local businesses and amenities, including van hire. A typical range of vans is normally on offer:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
