About Havant

The market town of Havant is sheltered from the Solent by the bulk of Hayling Island, which forms part of the borough of Havant. The town's proximity to both Portsmouth and Chichester means it's a popular place to live, especially as direct rail services are available to London from Havant.

The town's history can be traced back to Roman times, but the population only really started to rise after World War II, when commuters to Portsmouth and London flocked to the town. Havant's location by the A27 and within ten minutes of the A3(M) and M27 means that road connections are good, traffic permitting.

Havant boasts a resident population of more than 45,000 people, with amenities including a twice-weekly market and a wide range of leisure facilities. On a more mundane note, van hire is also available from local suppliers:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
