About London Euston
London Euston station was one of the original main line railway stations and remains so today, forming the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line. Perhaps unfortunately, the building we see today is not the original, Victorian design. This was demolished in the 1960s to make way for a larger, modern building capable of supporting the increased number of services that were needed.
This story may yet have a happy ending, however. In 2007, a decision was made to demolish Euston Station for a second time, to make way for an increase in capacity from 18 to 21 platforms. Considerable architectural improvements are promised for the replacement of London's seventh-busiest station.
Euston Station itself lies within the borough of Camden, a popular residential borough in north London that includes areas such as Camden Town, Hampstead, Highgate, Primrose Hill, Kentish Town, Kilburn and Regent's Park.
