About London Gatwick Airport

London's Gatwick Airport is the UK's second busiest airport, after Heathrow. In 2007, Gatwick handled more than 35 million passengers, with a mix of scheduled and charter flights serving approximately 200 destinations. Gatwick Airport even has its own railway station, which operates 950 rail services a day from its six platforms. The area on which Gatwick stands has been in use as an aerodrome since 1930 and the first commercial flights took place in 1936.
