About Navan
The town of Navan is popular for its proximity to Dublin, to which many residents commute. It's also home to Europe's largest zinc mine, the Tara mine, where mining begun in 1977. The town's road and rail connections reflect its industrial heritage. Passenger services are more restricted than they once were but in 2010, a rail link between Navan and Dublin was opened. This has significantly improved access to the capital.
