About Worksop

The Nottinghamshire town of Worksop falls within the Bassetlaw district of the county. Worksop appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086 and became a major mining town in the 18th and 19th centuries, after both the Chesterfield Canal and the railway arrived in the town.

Road links are also good. Worksop lies on the A57, providing a direct link to both the M1 and the A1. The cities of Sheffield and Nottingham are less than an hour's drive away, although traffic can be heavy.
