About Cupar
The Fife town of Cupar lies on the River Eden, a few miles inland from Guardbridge and the better known town of St Andrews, which is famous for its golf course and university. Cupar itself is an equally historic town, albeit less famous.
Among the town's historic attractions are the United Parish Church and the Duncan Institute. The town also has a number of other buildings which date back to the 17th century.
Many of Cupar's residents work locally in the food and drink production sector, which is a major employer in the town. However, nearly one-fifth of the Cupar's population were identified as retired at the time of the 2011 census.
