About Gillingham Kent
Gillingham in Kent is a town close to Chatham and Rochester, on the southern side of the River Medway. Originally a small village, its expansion was the result of the growth of the Chatham dockyard and Gillingham's position on the A2 London Road, which was once a major turnpike route to the capital.
Today, Gillingham is an urban district with a population of more than 100,000 people.
