About Haywards Heath

The West Sussex town of Haywards Heath was a sleepy village until the Victorians decided to run the London to Brighton railway through the area. As happened elsewhere in the UK, the coming of the railway -- and the ability to travel at high speed to the capital -- resulted in Haywards Heath expanding rapidly into a prosperous, medium-sized town.

Today Haywards Heath is home to about 25,000 people, many of whom take advantage of the town's rail links to commute to London. Gatwick Airport is only about 25 minutes away by road or rail, making the town a convenient base for regular flyers and airport workers.

Although Haywards Heath itself is a fairly typical town, it's surrounded by some of the finest countryside in the south of England and is also only 20 miles from Brighton and the south coast.

This remarkably well-connected town is also well provided with local amenities. Residents, businesses or visitors needing to hire a van should be able to choose from the following options:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
