About Milford Haven

Milford Haven is one of the largest towns in Pembrokeshire, with a population of more than 13,000. The relative isolation of this largely rural county hasn't stopped oil companies developing a series of oil and gas refineries and storage facilities since the 1960s.

Today, the facilities at Milford Haven are an important part of the UK's energy infrastructure. The town itself is situated around 10 miles south of Haverfordwest, at the western end of the A40 trunk road.

Milford Haven's location on the west coast of the UK means that in general, the climate is wet but mild, with generous amounts of sunshine.

The town's harbour remains an integral part of its economy, although work is underway to broaden the economy with the development of new facilities intended to attract other visitors and tourists.
