About Stoke On Trent

Stoke-on-Trent is best known to many people as the traditional home of Britain's most famous potteries - Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Minton, Spode and many more. Today, the area is still heavily involved in the pottery industry - albeit on a much reduced scale. Although much of Stoke's pottery production has been offshored, many of pottery's most famous names retain factory shops and museums in the area, making it very popular with visitors.

Home to around 240,000 people, the city of Stoke-on-Trent is roughly midway between Manchester and Birmingham. The M6 motorway runs directly past Stoke, giving it excellent transport connections to these two major cities. Stoke-on-Trent's size means that there is strong demand for van hire in the city. As a result, the city has a considerable number of van hire companies, offering most types of hire van:

  • Medium vans - e.g. Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter
  • Small vans - e.g. Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit Connect, VW Caddy
  • Large / long wheelbase vans - e.g. Mercedes Sprinter XLWB, Ford Transit LWB, Renault Master
  • Luton vans & box vans (3.5 tonne / 3.5t).
