About Yeadon
Home to more than 20,000 people, Yeadon is a mid-sized town in West Yorkshire, about 10 miles to the north-west of Leeds. Yeadon is probably best-known for its proximity to Leeds Bradford Airport. Indeed, the airport was originally known as Yeadon Aerodrome when it opened in the 1930s.
Like many former villages in this area, Yeadon grew rapidly into a town during the 19th century, when the industrial revolution brought steam power and woollen mills to the area.
