Inverness Airport lies about 8 miles north east of the city of Inverness and close to the villages of Fisherton and Brackley.
Inverness Airport handles more than 650,000 passengers a year, the vast majority of which are travelling on domestic routes to other UK destinations. Although the airport has operated various European routes over the years, these have not proved especially successful and few are still running at the time of writing.
Like many regional airports, Inverness Airport’s started out in life as a World War II RAF base, opening for civil aviation in 1947.
