Band Van Hire: Vans For Bands, Oxford

Vans For Bands logoI’m very pleased to welcome our newest advertiser to vanrental.co.uk, Vans For Bands Ltd, which is now listed on our Band Van Hire page.

Vans For Bands is one of the UK’s leading band van hire companies and offers a full range of 6-11 seater splitter vans and MPVs from its base near Oxford or via its nationwide collection and delivery service. Tour vans are available in a wide range of specifications and onboard facilities such as sat navs, PS2s, DVD players and reclining chairs are available.

Most vehicles can be driven on a standard car driving licence and trailer hire is also available. This is useful, as most regular car and van hire companies prohibit the use of a trailer with their vans.

Vans For Bands is based in Begbroke, just north of Oxford. To find out more, contact them directly:

Vans For Bands also provides backline hire and can arrange to provide tour personnel for UK and European tours.

Band Van Hire News: Tiger Tours Now Offering Mini Splitters

Band van hire specialist Tiger Tours has a new type of splitter van – the mini splitter. This is basically a crew cab Mercedes Vito with a properly boarded-off load compartment that ensures the security of your backline and the safety of your passengers, in the event of any emergency braking.

Being a Merc (even though it’s a van), the Vito is a very pleasant place to spend time and will use less fuel and be easier to park than its bigger brothers.

If your tour group is no larger than six (including the driver) and you don’t have a large backline, then one of these could be ideal. Rental rates start from just £70 +VAT per day – contact Tiger Tours for more details.

The Nottingham Band That Was Born In A Van

Nottingham band The Barnum Meserve had its origins in the van that singer Leon Wiley used to live in between stints working offshore on an oil rig. Readers from the East Midlands may remember going to see them at Nottingham‘s Rock City and Junktion 7 venues before the band split in 2005.

The band is back together now and finalising plans for its debut album – although they are still searching for a record deal. In the meantime, I suspect The Barnum Meserve will be doing as much gigging as possible – perhaps with the help of a hired splitter van.

The band’s music was recently used in the BBC documentary ‘An Abuse Of Trust’ and you can hear some of its latest songs and see the video for the band’s single ‘Broken Window’ on its Myspace page.

Should You Be Advertising on vanrental.co.uk?

At this moment, vanrental.co.uk lists 694 van hire branches in 367 UK locations (we’ve also got a few in Ireland). We also list a growing number of minibus hire locations.

These rental branches belong to a mixture of large, big-brand rental companies – such as Sixt and Europcar – and small, independent rental companies that may only have a single branch each.

Every branch gets equal treatment and our search results page automatically lists branches by distance – so the nearest branch to the customer’s location is always listed first – helping improve clickthrough rates from our website to our advertisers’ websites.

We track the number of visitors we send to each rental company’s site and we’re always happy to share this information with the rental company concerned. In fact, we send this information to every advertiser when it’s time for their annual renewal.

Over the last year, vanrental.co.uk has averaged more than 34,000 visitors per month – some of them could be looking for your business in your location.
