Vauxhall Vivaro Hits Half-Million Mark

Workers at General Motor’s Luton plant have just put the finishing touches to the 500,000th Vauxhall Vivaro van to be produced at the plant.

The Vivaro SWB has proved popular with fleet and small business buyers – as well as rental companies. The same model is also sold by Nissan (as the Navistar) and Renault (as the Traffic) under a special agreement with GM. All European low-roof versions of the van are built at GM’s Luton plant, which produced 89,065 vans in 2006.

The Vivaro recently won the award for Best Medium Van at the Van Fleet World awards and last year was voted Best Medium Panel Van by What Van.
