Ford is to resurrect the Courier name when it launches the Transit Courier in 2014, to fill the size gap in its commercial vehicle range between the Fiesta van and the Transit Connect.

This small van sector of the market is hotly contested and extremely popular these days — think how many Citroen Nemo, Peugeot Bipper and Fiat Fiorino vans you see around, especially in town.

Full details haven’t been released yet but the press have been given a taster preview, which you can see in this video:

The Courier will be produced in Tourneo Courier and Transit Courier versions — i.e. people carrier and van models.

More to come at some point in the future — unfortunately the Transit Courier won’t hit UK showrooms until 2014.
