Econorent opens Ipswich van hire location

EconorentSuffolk and Essex car and van hire firm Econorent is continuing to expand, and now has a new branch in Ipswich.

This family-owned company has been advertising on vanrental.co.uk since 2012, so it’s great to see that it’s continuing to grow.

The Ipswich branch is based on Nacton Road, about 1.6 miles from Derby Road railway station and just 1 miles from the A14.

A full range of cars and vans are available at the new branch, including small, medium and long wheelbase vans, plus luton box vans with tail lifts (see here for our van size guide).

Pickups are also available, including with towbars.

For larger groups, seven and nine-seater minibuses can be hired.

Easter is early this year, and will be here in less than two weeks. What are your plans?

The ‘beast from the East’ appears to be in full retreat this week, opening up the prospect of some milder weather over the long weekend.

It may still be too early for a BBQ (or perhaps not!) but Easter is the ideal time to get stuck into big DIY jobs, garden renovations, or major trips to the tip. Perhaps you’ve got an old shed or garage that needs emptying. And what about the loft?

Dirty deeds

If you need to shift a load of dirty ‘stuff’ from a to b, then you’ll probably already know that your car isn’t the ideal choice of transport. Not only is carrying capacity limited, but you’ll have to do a big clean-up afterwards.

A far better choice might be to consider hiring a van for the long weekend. This could be much cheaper than you’d expect, and the practical advantages of having a rugged and large load space could easily outweigh the extra cost.

For example, you won’t run any risk of getting soil/mud/oil/grime/loft dirt on your car’s upholstery. Nor will there be any risk of damaging the seats or interior trim.

Fewer journeys

The extra space and weight-carrying ability of a van also means that you’ll probably be able to make fewer trips. One trip in a medium van could easily replace three in a car. That leaves more time for a BBQ and a hard-earned beer when you knock off for the day!

The latest location to be added to our van hire database is the town of Christchurch, in Dorset.

This medieval market town has a thriving population of more than 45,000 and benefits from being close to Bournemouth International Airport, at Hurn. Road and rail connections are also good, providing good access to nearby Poole and Bournemouth, as well as Southampton.

At the time of writing (Feb 2018) we have one van hire supplier listed in Christchurch, Enterprise. Known for its wide Uk branch network and global reach, Enterprise normally offers a full range of vans for rent in Christchurch, including small, medium, long and luton vans. People carriers with up to nine seats are also available.

We’ve recently added two van hire suppliers in Staines-upon-Thames to the vanrental.co.uk search engine, in our continuing effort to improve our price comparison results.

Staines (as it’s more commonly known) is a town in Surrey that lies on the River Thames, It’s lies alongside the M25, midway between the Slough junction with the M4 and the Chertsey junction with the M3. It’s a busy area for traffic, not least because it’s also just 3 miles from Heathrow Airport.

At the time of writing (Jan 2018), we’re listing two van hire suppliers in Staines, Avis and Budget. Both companies normally offer a good selection of popular van sizes and Budget also offers one-way hire, which can be very useful.

Staines-upon-Thames itself is a picturesque town by the River Thames with a generous helping of historic buildings. Home to around 18,000 people, it incorporates the villages of Laleham, Stanwell and Wraysbury and runs almost continuously into Egham.

Here at vanrental.co.uk we’re always trying to improve our coverage of van hire suppliers across the UK (and Ireland!).

One of the newest locations on our price comparison engine is West Midlands exhibition venue, the Birmingham NEC. At the time of writing (Jan 2018) both Budget and Avis operate van hire branches on the NEC estate.

The NEC is easily accessible by rail and air, as well as by road. This means that NEC visitors who find expect to take large items home from an exhibition could choose to arrive by rail (Birmingham International) or air (nearby Birmingham Airport) and then hire a van with a one-way booking to return to home.

Alternatively if you need to make a delivery to the NEC, you could choose this option too and then drop off your van and get a train or plane home.

One-way van hire is usually available from Budget, so this could be an ideal option in some scenarios.

I’m pleased to say that we’ve recently added in new van hire suppliers providing coverage in Hampton, London.

This West London suburb forms part of the Borough of Richmond upon Thames, but it’s best known as the location of Hampton Court Palace and its legendary maze. Hampton itself is midway between Sunbury and Kingston, on the A308. It’s around 15 miles from central London by road or rail, making it a popular area with commuters.
